RODWELL TRAIL
If you’re looking for a gentle or family friendly cycle with mostly level surfaces, the Rodwell Trail is ideal. Following a disused passenger railway line, the trail is a fully surfaced, 2 mile one-way route, that takes you past iconic landmarks like Sandsfoot Castle, as well as offering beautiful views and plenty of wildlife.

An 8.5 mile circular trail with a mix of off-road, cycle paths and quaint streets, along a mostly flat route, The Weymouth Trail is another great family friendly option. Starting from Overcombe Corner, it follows cycle paths around Lodmoor Country Park and Nature Reserves before leading into Weymouth town centre, where you can hop off for a bite to eat!

If you fancy a little more countryside than coast, there are a number of different routes you can take depending on your experience/fitness level to visit the Hardy Monument located above the village of Portesham. It was built in 1844 in memory of Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy and has been lovingly restored by the National Trust.
